Bill Nye – Celebrating Science on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Bill Nye, renowned science educator, engineer, and a long-time Toshiba/NSTA ExploraVision advocator, has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame—a testament to his decades-long commitment to making science accessible, inspiring, and fun.

In addition to his celebrated career in science communication, Bill is a passionate advocate for research and awareness of Ataxia, a rare degenerative condition affecting the nervous system that impacts his family.

His dedication to STEM education is reflected in his long-standing role as an advisor for ExploraVision, the premier K–12 science competition that challenges students to envision the technologies of the future. Through his guidance and encouragement, He helps ignite curiosity, creativity, and innovation among the next generation of scientists and engineers.

Beyond ExploraVision, he serves as an ambassador for Global Citizen, working since 2015 to help end extreme poverty, and he remains an active supporter of the National Science Teaching Association and the Sierra Club.
