GrowPro: The Prosthetic That Grows with You

Many children are fitted with cheap prosthetics each year, and one of the biggest problems with such prosthetics is that these children need to replace them at least every six to twelve months. This requires the creating, measuring, and fitting of a new prosthetic, all of 1 which requires time, money, and effort. However, the future holds great promises of solutions to this dilemma, GrowPro being among the list. Using artificial cells that are triggered to grow and divide with the help of a pair of programmed microchips, one which monitors the pituitary gland and another that signals for the artificial cells to divide, aesthetic bone grafting, a neurotransmitter chip that will help the user obtain a “feeling” in the prosthetic, and synthetic skin that will add a realistic look to the leg, the problem of needing to replace prosthetics often in children will be solved.
